Fall 2010 Marching Contest Volunteer Positions to be Filled:
Most categories will have a Chairperson and several volunteers.
The Chairperson will coordinate the work shifts within their area.

Accounting Receives, tracks and counts the cash pick-ups from Security. Communicates deposit info. with the Band Booster Treasurer. Distributes communication radios. I'm Interested
Bus Drivers' Hospitality Provides a room & food (from booster donations) for the competing units’ bus drivers. I'm Interested
Clean Up At the end of a long contest day, having extra clean up help is always appreciated. I'm Interested
Concessions Sells drinks and munchies. (Big Time Profit Center) I'm Interested
Contest Headquarters Organizes and distributes the donated food to the three hospitality rooms and dispatches  contest volunteers. I'm Interested
Cookie Sales Sells warm Otis Spunkmeyer cookies and possibly milk, coffee. I'm Interested
Directors' Hospitality Provides a private room & food (from booster donations) for the directors. Located on the lower level of the stadium press box. Great View!! Elevator equipped. I'm Interested
Event Photographer A band parent, with an inclination for photography, takes candid digital photos of performances, award presentations and volunteers. Photos will be loaded onto the Band Booster web site. I'm Interested
First Aid Station Any EMTs,nurses, doctors… out there? Needed: Band parents that are also nurses, EMT's, doctors... to provide medical treatment to our injured or ill guests. Located in the stadium training room. I'm Interested
Judges' Hospitality Provides a private room & food (from booster donations) for the judges. Located on the top floor of the stadium press box. Great view!! Elevator equipped. I'm Interested
Judges' Transportation Transports judges (approx. 6) from the Hyatt Place Indianapolis Airport to FCHS prior to the competition and from FCHS to hotel after the contest. I'm Interested
Parking Directs spectator & competing unit vehicles to their appropriate parking areas. I'm Interested
Pedestrian Traffic Flow Keeps stadium/bleacher aisles and judging areas clear during performances. I'm Interested
People's Choice Award New in 2010! Guests can cast their votes, with spare change and folding money, for their favorite band! Your task will be to man the voting booth (decorated table & 2 liter bottles). The votes will be tallied. At the award ceremony, a prize (TBD) will be given to the Class A/B and Class C/D band with the most votes. I'm Interested
Performer Exit Coordinates the flow of post performance units and guests headed to the Visitors side bleachers. Prior to the award ceremony, lines up the unit captains in performance order. Located at the southeast performance area gate. I'm Interested
Programs Uses Microsoft Word to create the contest program, which will be sold to our spectators. Orders and picks up programs from printers. Coordinates with Dan Fyffe, Band Booster President, Publicity and Sponsor/Advertiser Recruiter volunteers. I'm Interested
Publicity Franklin Township Informer, Southside Times, 91.5 WRFT, Indy Star… I'm Interested
Recruiting Sponsors & Advertisers Contacts individuals and businesses regarding financial and/or product support of the Franklin Township Band. Coordinates with Booster President, Publicity and Program Creator. I'm Interested
Score Tabulation Uses the provided computer program to tabulate the judges’ scores. Located on the lower level of the stadium press box. Elevator equipped. I'm Interested
Security Uniformed law enforcement officers, that are also band parents, monitor for safety concerns. Transports cash pick ups to Accounting volunteers. I'm Interested
Staging Area Directs units into the performance area. I'm Interested
Unit Check-In Provides competing units with wristbands and info. packets. Answers questions. Matches competing units with their contest guides. I'm Interested
Videographer of Competing Units Records unit performances onto a disc which is then included in the post-performance director’s packet with the judges’ score sheets. I'm Interested
Warm Up Oversees that each unit is provided the allotted amount of time to prepare for their performance. There will be two warm-up areas at each contest. Both areas will be located on the east side of FCHS. I'm Interested
Water Stations Provides cups (donated) of cold water to the fall invitational performers and their entourage. There are usually three water stations. I'm Interested
Wristband & Program Sales Sells wristband and programs from the stadium ticket booths to our guests. I'm Interested
